Prof. Msgr. Vladimir Felzmann aka Father Vlad
still working to help God make this World a better place
Acknowledge. Unusual word, with connotations of confess, live.
We know that God, and thus Jesus Christ, is love.
To live like God is to live for others. It is to live in the Kingdom of God - the State o Divine Love that Jeus came to teach, to live.
That is why Jesus encouraged us to repent, the change the way we think: from human self-centred to divine, other-centred.
"Everyone will know you are my disciples if you love one another.
Living in God's kingdom generates peace; not the hollow meaning of the English word 'absence of 'absence of conflict' but he Jewish meaning of shalom with its content of harmony, flourishing, and well-being - far richer than just peace.
In the Mass, after the Lord's Prayer, Shalom appears seven times. It is the core of the message of Jesus Christ.
Living for others does generate Shalom -as I found out, yet again, these past two months living in hospital and convalescent home for the elderly.
To help you delight in Shalom, as you know, I keep my homilies short.
