Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

"Happy are your eyes because they see."

We, almost instinctively treat our assets — health, relationships, freedoms, faith and even hope — as if they’re guaranteed.

Our brain seems wired to chase what’s next, not cherish what’s present.

Having received those two strokes and brain bleed two months ago - and needing two months to recover sufficiently to be able - and allowed- to live alone once again, I appreciate - and thank God for my health. I no longer take it for granted.

When faced with people who have no faith and live lives that are clearly empty, I appreciate and thank God for my faith.
