Nineteenth Sunday in OrdinaryTime

“Jesus went on the mountain by himself to pray.”

Jesus needed and wanted to spend time, alone with his father God.

To live and enjoy life to the full, we humans need to do the same. To spend time with God and all the others we love - before our time on earth runs out. All too many do not do that and thus their lives lack joy and hope.

How many people with whom , as priest, I spent their last hours alive on our planet admitted they wished they had spent more time with those they loved. Avoid that mistake.

Remember, you are captain of your own ship. How about, perhaps changing your priorities, the structure of your day, and  include in your daily timetable a quarter of on hour in the morning and /or evening alone with God. 

Thinking about, and talking to God about your days: your worries, responsibilities, challenges and joys.

Realising that God is with you 24/7 will change your perception of the world around you – and keep you younger at heart.
