St Peter and Paul

“You know everything, you know I love you.”

This, together with “thank you for today” is how I start my every day. I say these words as I take off my pajamas. A routine – that sets me off on a spiritual 24 hours.

God knew everything about Peter – as, indeed abut Paul, yet God chose them, to get his followers moving forward.

St Paul transformed Christianity from a Jewish movement into a global faith.

St. Peter enabled the early church to remain united and made it clear that converts to Christianity did not need to become Jews on their way there.

Peter and Paul remind me that the past, rather than a retarding problem, can be a rehearsal for the present.

Peter was weak and denied Jesus.

Paul was strong. He seem4s always to be doing God’s will – as he saw it. That perception radically altered when he encountered Jesus Chris on his journey to Damascus. From persecuting to totally supporting Jesus.

Peter and Paul taught me – years ago – that no matter what and how many mistakes you make through weakness or wrong judgement, you can repent and restart and, with God’s life in your heart, achieve great things.
